Another Hell week?

sorry for the recent addition of ads above the posts. I have no control of that.

The Bucs limped home from an improbable week of baseball hoping to find their forgiving fans in the stands rooting for them Monday night. To be sure, the fans will be there. Maybe not in the same numbers as in previous years, and certainly not as hopeful, but there all the same.

It was a hard week for the players, and even harder week on the fans.

But it’s a week that is in the history books now and the probability this club repeats a week like that is negligible at best. They won’t be perfect because the roster is full of problems right now, but they won’t get slammed as bad as they have been either.

Even with Morris pitching.

So while the fans have seen the roster play at its lowest point, we still haven’t seen the best and I think we are getting ready to head into a streak of games that show us that potential.

The fact we played so poorly woke the fans up a bit earlier than in recent past and every blogger and media outlet has emphasized the reality that is current Pittsburgh Pirates baseball - a franchise headed in the wrong direction, despite new management and record setting revenue streams (competitive balance we’re told) from other clubs.

But don’t give up the ship. It’s easy to think the next 145 games will be more of the same but they won’t be. We’ll see more errors, we’ll see a lot more fundamental mistakes, but we’ll also see some winning baseball along the way.

Just don’t let your ‘hope’ guard down for one second.

Still, if you answered anything but “A” in the front page excerpt, you might start questioning yourself if you are adding to the problem in Pittsburgh.

  1. Is the answer to your lead question (E) Order more bobbleheads and fireworks?

  2. Oh the shame…. Hendrickson, who never had a 2 hit season, had 2 today vs the Pirates. Morris got a hit too. Maybe we should use him & his .286 average as a PH to squeeze out some more value out of his. Bixler got a shot batting 2nd, no hits but at least he made contact and didn\\\’t get charged with an error. I see they finally decided to let LaRoche work on his swing out of the #4 spot. Did Paulino catch today because he \\

  3. My comment got cut. Saw Meek was throwing his fastballs 92-94 to all batter except the last guy (94, 96, & 97 I think) in his first inning. Was he taking something off for better control, or did it take him several batters to fully warm up and then was a little tired the 2nd inning?
