Wilson Traded (no, not that Wilson)

Craig Wilson, who signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates in April, has been traded to the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named.
Wilson was hitting .230 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs at Triple-A this season. 
Wilson played for the Pirates from 2001-2006, until he was traded to the Yankees for Shaun Chacon.

Cleveland Claims Bullington

Former Number One OVERALL pick Bryan Bullington was claimed off waivers by the Indians. 
Bullington was the No. 1 overall pick in 2002 draft.
Players selected after Bullington include: B.J. Upton, Zack Greinke, Prince Fielder, Jeremy Hermida, Joe Saunders, Khalil Greene, Scott Kazmir, Cole Hamels, James Loney, Jeff Francoeur, Joe Blanton, and Matthew Cain.

Luis Munoz Promoted

Starting pitcher Luis Munoz has been prompted from AA Altoona.  This will mark the first time the 26-year old has been in the major leagues.
He fills the roster spot of John Van Benschoten, who was sent to AAA after his start against the Astros.

Bautista Acquired, Snell to DL

Pitcher Ian Snell has been placed on the15-day disabled list.
By placing Ian on the DL, he cannot return to the rotation until July 8 at Houston. 
The move was made to open a spot on the 25-man roster for relief pitcher Denny Bautista.
The 27-year old Bautista was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Tigers for minor league pitcher Kyle Pearson.

Snell has “Golfer’s Elbow”

Pitcher Ian Snell is expected to miss his next start because of medial epicondylitis, which is more commonly known as golfer’s elbow.
Luckily, no damage was revealed to Snell’s ulnar collateral ligament.
Snell was scheduled to pitch Friday.
 



Nyjer Morgan and TJ Beam Up

The Bucco’s have made a couple moves to their roster.  With Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit still recovering from their injuries, the Pirates recalled outfielder Nyjer Morgan.  Marino Salas was sent back to AAA.

Bayliss Traded

Relief pitcher Jonah Bayliss has been traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named later. 
The 27-year old was acquired in the Mark Redman trade with the Kansas City Royals in 2005.
Bayliss last pitched in the majors for the Pirates in late July 2007, and has been in the minors since August [...]



Paulino Demoted

The Pirates sent catcher Ronny Paulino to AAA Indy and activated Ryan Doumit from the disabled list.
The 27-year-old Paulino, it was thought, would see the majority of the playing time at catcher while Doumit was on the DL with an injured finger.

Bullington Recalled

The Pirates have recalled Bryan Bullington from Class AAA Indy to provide some long relief to a recently overworked bullpen.
To make room on the 25-man roster, reliever Marino Salas was sent back to Indianapolis.
