Where the Pittsburgh Pirates are always on!

Ho-hum; Bucs #1 loses to Nats

Well, at least we weren’t swept by the lowly Nats. I suppose that’s the good news, along with LaRoche finally starting to heat up a bit.

Bay’s error in the 4th wasn’t called, McLouth doing what he’s told by Frazier at first attempting to stretch a single into a double then getting thrown out, and, well, the laundry list goes on and on just like every game.

There isn’t much to like about the lack of urgency being displayed on the diamond by a majority of the players right now. And it’s showing in the win-loss column where it usually does.  Let’s see, that’s 13 losses last 18 now?

Geez… even teams with 100% replacement level players project to win more often than that.

We’re going through the motions, but that’s about it.  Somebody needs to wake up.

7.72 ERA, 2.8 K/9, and a 5.5 BB/9.  That is Snell’s line over his last three outings.

Ouch.

Think the Giants are going to be a pushover?  Better think again.  And don’t be too sure the Braves don’t sweep four while you are at it.

Here’s a nice Q&A with Freddy Sanchez in the Miami Herald by two teenagers.

Now you know why the Trib’s beat reporting of the Pirates has tanked.

I’m on vacation until May 16th - heading to Aruba to get away from this madness.
