The Bucco’s have made a couple moves to their roster. With Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit still recovering from their injuries, the Pirates recalled outfielder Nyjer Morgan. Marino Salas was sent back to AAA.
Phil Dumatrait was then placed on the DL with shoulder pain. Relief pitcher TJ Beam was called up from AAA. The 27-year old Beam was signed as a minor league free agent by the Pirates last December from the Yankees organization. The Pirates are about the start a series against the Evil Empire this week.
Beam took the loss in his Pirates debut. He allowed an earned run and walked two in 1 1/3 innings.
To make room for Beam on the 40-man roster, outfielder Chris Duffy was placed on the 60-day DL. Duffy is currently rehabbing in AA.
News will come on Ian Snell when the results from the tests on his elbow are revealed.
